Summer Solstice: Connect To The Light Within
Join us in honoring Mother Earth as we celebrate the Summer Solstice with:
Breathing, sound bathing, reiki healing, havening
Using the modalities of breathwork, sound healing, reiki energy healing, and havening touch, we’ll offer an afternoon experience on the Summer Solstice to officially welcome in the summer season. We’ll take a pause out of our busy lives to reflect on the lessons spring gave to us, to connect to other humans, to tend to the intentions we have for the summer, and to tap into deep restorative rest and the light within.
Date: Sunday, June 21
Time: 1pm-3:30pm
Location: Schubert Bandshell on Raspberry Island / Harriet Island Road, St. Paul, MN 55107
Fee: $108
*10% of proceeds will be donated to local mutual aid
What to Expect:
We’ll begin with a welcome where we share a little information about each of the modalities, in case there are any new to you, and share some inspiration about the Summer Solstice.
Then you’ll get comfy in your cozy nests on the floor. Helen will guide everyone in a short grounding and intention setting before leading an active breathwork practice.
After the active practice, you’ll be invited into an extended rest where Devin will serenade your system with a collection of sound healing instruments while Pam will offer hands-on reiki and Melanie will provide havening touch to help deepen your restorative time and settle your nervous system.
At the end of the sound bath, you’ll be invited to reflect in your journal and there will be some time to connect back in with the group for sharing and processing.
What to Bring:
We'll be sitting and lying on the ground, so bring whatever you need to feel cozy: yoga mats, cushions, bolsters, pillows, blankets, sleeping bags, lawn chairs, etc. Seriously, we can’t emphasize enough to bring your favorite supports so you can really melt into the experience! The floor of the bandshell is concrete, so anything that makes you feel like you’re laying on a cloud is welcome.
Dressing in layers is a great idea and you're welcome to bring any sacred items that might help you sink in (like stones or an eye pillow). Bring a journal and a water bottle.
Where to Go:
In case of weather and for shade from the solstice sun, we’ll be set up in the Schubert Bandshell on Raspberry Island in St. Paul. Here is a map for parking and general layout of Raspberry Island for your reference.
Parking:
Limited parking is available on Raspberry Island and is first-come, first-served. Additional street parking and ramps are available in nearby Saint Paul (5–10 minute walk). Please consider carpooling or rideshare when possible.

Then payment can be made via venmo to @Melanie-Vinton
*if you’d rather pay through cash, check, or card instead of venmo, we can make that happen! Just let us know :)
Limited Capacity: to make sure everyone gets a spot under the bandshell, we are limiting the group size to 30
What is Breathwork?:
Breathwork is a type of active meditation, embodiment practice, and guided therapy that helps facilitate self-healing. Through a three-part rhythmic breath pattern, the increase of oxygen helps bypass the thinking brain and invites in the space to connect more deeply to your own intuition and wisdom, unblock your creativity, and support you in processing emotions, past trauma, or current roadblocks for more ease, alignment, clarity, and groundedness.
What is Sound Healing?:
Sound healing is a gently guided somatic experience where soothing tones from quartz singing bowls, chimes, and gongs interact with your nervous system to support regulation. The sustained vibrations invite deep relaxation, helping to release stored tension and foster a sense of safety in the body.
What is Reiki?:
Reiki is an energy healing technique used to reduce stress and promote relaxation. Pam will lightly place her hands on or just above you to support the balancing of your nervous system.
What is Havening?:
Havening is a psychosensory technique that involves touch, attention, and imagination in order to engender healing and positive change. Melanie will be applying Havening Touch to those interested.
